Bosch Compound Miter Saw

A little preliminary info. Let me introduce myself: My name is Constantine, and I’m a do-it-yourself guy. You see, that’s one of my hobbies, and if you are here, then probably it is your hobby too, or even your profession. If it’s the last case, I still hope you can find something useful on my bosch compound miter saw website, though probably it is the contrary. In this case, please feel free to leave a comment with suggestion and\or correction - I will be glad to learn something new from a real pro’s out there. In any case, everyone is welcome to comment!

Back to the topic though.

I always was interested in making things, ever since my childhood. I can still remember my first introduction to hammer and nails - I was hitting my fingers more than the nails back then :D My first doghouse was looking more like an igloo, so awful it was. Boy, those were the times!

But how all this started? What made me to create a website and to write this post? Well, as I have already said, being a do-it-yourself guy, sooner or later I was “doomed” to be introduced to miter saws. Until then I already had some power tools (by the way, before, I used to do almost all woodwork with a regular manual saw), but only the absolute minimum required to do any woodworking. I think it was a drill, a jigsaw, and a grinder.

Anyway, when I decided to buy a miter saw, I knew almost nothing about miter saws, so I bought some cheap stock miter saw - I don’t even looked at the brand back then, all I needed was something really cheap (I had serious budget issues at the time) and working, that’s all.

It worked, yes, but it was too damn crappy. Using it became a pure torture after a while, and there was always some part that fell apart when I wanted to use it. I even knew when something will go wrong - it was almost always consistently sequential.

But some day, the engine stopped my suffering when it failed. All this time I knew that I needed a new miter saw, and not a regular miter saw, but a compound miter saw. All that was keeping me from going and buying a new one was the thought that “this one still works”.

I decided to go for a miter saw with a brand name this time, and it was Bosch. Now I know that there are much brand names to consider like Makita, DeWalt, or evne Ryobi, but the closest store to my place only had Bosch, so I decided to go with Bosch. That is why this website is about Bosch compound miter saw.

Now, if you are not sure whether it is worth to get a compound miter saw compared to miter saw, then my advice is that it’s totally worth it. I mean, you never know what kind of cuts you would be doing in your next project, and in many cases the compound miter saw’s ability to make beveled cuts comes very handy. Yes, it is more costly than the miter saw, but if you considered buying a Bosch miter saw, which aren’t cheap, then it is better to have it all in one package.

Name: Bosch 4212L 12-Inch Dual Bevel Compound Miter saw with Laser Tracking.
This model is a balance of cost and features. It has 12″ blade, helps to cut bigger pieces. Arbor laser tracking makes sure you see where you cut, and dust bag gets all the particles out of the way so you can see a clear cutting line. The miter range I say is ok: -52 to 52 degrees. Handy positive stops make sure you can setup it quickly. Ambidextrous lock-off release button is a cute suck up for all left handed, and built-in length stop makes sure you can cut same sized pieces quickly. But what I like the most, is the electric brakes. By reversing the electric flow you can stop the blade literally in seconds, and it is a huge time saver when you have to do quick, repetitive cuts. Also, it has 40 tooth carbide-tipped blade, which is great for cutting all types of wood. It stays sharp long enough even when cutting hard wood.

So what are you waiting for? If you are looking for Bosch compound miter saw, then this is exactly what you’re looking for. It is not that expensive, compared to feature bloated “fat” models.
